The main feature of the third issue 2024 of our customer magazine focuses on the protection and repair of bridges and showcases MC's comprehensive portfolio of proven product systems for concrete repair, surface protection, structural reinforcement and waterproofing of bridge structures, which fulfil all technical and design requirements as well as the strict national German and European standards. In addition, our MC aktiv once again offers an interesting and inspiring mix of innovations, projects and internal news from the world of MC-Bauchemie.

MAIN FEATURE of our magazine: Protecting and preserving bridges for a safe route into the future

Bridge structures are an elementary component of transport infrastructure

. However, the increasing volume of traffic and aggressive environmental influences are leading to ever greater stresses. In order to strengthen the safety and durability of the structures, they must be inspected and maintained at regular intervals. MC-Bauchemie has many years of experience and high-quality product systems that have been used in many projects worldwide. MC thus makes an important contribution to the maintenance of transport infrastructure around the world and ensures safety there. Read more about this in the top topic on p. 8.

BIG PICTURE of our magazine: The Alba Arena – A new venue for sports and events in Hungary

In April 2024, the Alba Arena in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, celebrated its opening as a modern sports and event hall. With a total area of 23,730 m², the multifunctional hall not only offers space for up to 8,000 spectators, but also has offices, a service area, a restaurant and another event hall on four floors. The construction company Market Építő Zrt used a whole range of MC products in the construction of the Alba Arena, in particular MC-DUR TopSpeed for the design of the blue floor in the foyer and the arena walkways and MC-Estrifan Color Protect for the coating of the spectator areas.

INNOVATION & INSPIRATION from MC in our latest magazine

As usual, we present new products and technologies in our latest MC aktiv. For example, our 800 kg Big Bags, which will be launched on the market of the Central European DACH region in 2025 and will bring consistent quality, optimised personnel deployment and less dust pollution as well as waste on the construction site. We also present the new high-performance superplasticiser for CO₂-optimised concretes MC-EcoFlow and MC-Proof 530, the 3-in-1 solution for all types of waterproofing and surface protection.

In our Inspiration section, we present unusual applications of the epoxy resin MC-DUR 1200, which can be used to create unique marble-like floors.

BEST PRACTICE: Projects, projects, projects in our latest magazine

In the BEST PRACTICE section, we once again offer you an interesting selection of recent projects: From manhole renovation with the ombran system in the Australian outback and the sustainable concrete refurbishment of hotel villas in the Maldives to the waterproofing of the green oasis in the Garden Mall in Zagreb or the renovation of a military airport in northern Germany to the HS2 project in the UK, where MC's tunnelling expertise is in demand.

SUSTAINABILITY focus in our magazine: ISO 14001 certification and climate protection

In the sustainability section, we report on the renewal of the ISO 14001 certification and also show you new facts and figures on the saving of resources and emissions at MC-Bauchemie's main site in Bottrop.

As always, we round off our issue with internal topics, portraits and personal details.
